Too often, I forget. I come before You with a list of needs, burdens, and anxieties I ask You to fix what hurts and remove the discomfort of waiting. My prayers become about me and I fix my eyes on my circumstances instead of Jesus. My faith feels weak when my eyes settle on all the uncertainty around me.

As this new day begins, let the words of this beloved song become the prayer of my heart:“In the morning when I rise, in the morning when I rise, give me Jesus. You can have all this world, give me Jesus.”
