Laying Aside My List

Heavenly Father—

Too often, I forget. I come before You with a list of needs, burdens, and anxieties. I ask You to fix what hurts and remove the discomfort of waiting. My prayers become about me and I fix my eyes on my circumstances instead of Jesus. My faith feels weak when my eyes settle on all the uncertainty around me.

Yet, You invite me to rest in the peace of Your presence, to be still and remember that You are God. You remind me that Your timing is perfect, Your plans are trustworthy, and Your ways are higher than my own. You are the Potter, and I am the clay.

Father, help me remember that every good and perfect gift comes from You. You are the giver of all good things, the keeper of every promise, the lover of my soul, the light that guides my path, and the faithful Author of my story. When I am frustrated with what I lack, remind my heart of the countless ways You have already provided to sustained me.

Today, let me lay aside my endless list of demands and instead count my many blessings. Teach me to trust You more, thank You more, and love You more.

Amen
