Give Me Jesus First

Heavenly Father,

As this new day begins, let the words of this beloved song become the prayer of my heart:“In the morning when I rise, in the morning when I rise, give me Jesus. You can have all this world, give me Jesus.”

Father, today let my highest aim be Jesus. Before the demands of the day, before the distractions of my to-do list, before worry or busyness pull at my attention, draw my heart first to Him. Help me to desire what He desires and to align my heart in obedience to His will.

Let Your Word be the bread that feeds and satisfies my soul. Guide my choices, and let my life be pleasing to Him. Create in me a deeper longing for Christ—greater than what this world offers. 

When my heart begins to weary or wander, call me back to the One who truly loves me and gave Himself for me. Father, through every moment of this day, give me Jesus.
